BU LIBRARIAN AS GUEST SPEAKER AT THE OGUN STATE NLA LIBRARY WEEK/QUIZ COMPETITION


The University Librarian, Professor Clara C. Okoro will deliver a career talk during the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Library Association 'Library Week' holding on October 3, 2013. The week long activities include a one-day interactive session with selected secondary school students and quiz competition for senior secondary school students in Abeokuta. The purpose was to arouse in our children, positive reading habit. The interactive session holds at the Simeon Adebo Library, Kuto, Abeokuta by 11.00 a.m prompt.

ACCREDITATION OF MEDICAL LABORATORY RESOURCES

The University Library on August 22 hosted personnel from the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) for the accreditation of Medical Laboratory Science resources.

ORIENTATION FOR NEW STUDENTS

Dr. (Mrs.) Rachael Aina (Deputy Librarian) led other Librarians to the orientation programme for freshers (new students) at the Wilfred Riley Auditorium on Monday, August 19, 2013. The new students were briefly introduced to library operations and services.

Librarians from the University Library will be attending the Nigeria Library Association (NLA) Ogun State Chapter Mid Year AGM/Conference at the NSCDC Training Centre, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta on Tuesday, June 25, 2013.

ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG (OPAC)

The University Library has since June 2010 implemented an Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) for ease of access to its collections. The resource is user-friendly hence to search for any material within and outside the library could be done easily with the use of key-word, author, title, call number and any other search term. All the subscribed e-journals are made available through the OPAC. LRCN CERTIFIED BU LIBRARIANS

No fewer than three Librarians from Babcock University Library and three Faculty members from the Department of Information Resources Management were on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 certified by the Librarian’s Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN). The ceremony which held at the NUC auditorium, Abuja had the Minister of Education and other dignitaries in attendance. The certified Librarians and Faculty members include
